Ayurveda
is a Sanskrit term which means the Science (Veda)
of Life (Ayus). They say it has existed ever since
life has existed on earth, in the sense that it
makes up a part of life itself and embraces the
animate and inanimate worlds, before, during, and
after their appearance on this planet. According
to Indian mythology, this is a Revealed Truth that
the ancient wisemen received through a direct intuition
from Brahma, the Creator, on Mount Kailash.
One encounters Ayurvedic concepts in the Veda, ancient
sacred texts of knowledge, and specifically in the
Atharva Veda.
LIFE STYLE
Thanks to the solid philosophical base on which
it rests, Ayurveda is a true and real life style
with accepted rules and practices of conduct directed
towards attaining and preserving a global state
of health for every living creature.
This holistic approach to life is concerned as
much with the state of health and its maintenance
as with the state of imbalance, of its correction
and its prevention.
In simple words you can say that AYURVEDA is:
1)
A teaching for living a full and positive life,
and of avoiding or turning around a life of suffering.
2) The contagious happiness of feeling healthy
and strong.
3) A generous font of Rejuvenating techniques
both physical and mental, and the Care of ones
Good Looks.
THE RELEVANCE OF AYURVEDA It is in consideration,
therefore, of its totality that explains why Ayurveda
has aroused such great interest all over the world
today.
Ayurveda, in fact, proposes very clear guidelines
for maintaining ones state of health and re-balancing
it in cases of discomfort.
It gives great importance to diet, quality of sleep,
and to the right balance of our various energies
and to the various impulses that fluctuate in each
of us.
Everything in its own Time and Place!
EVERYTHING IN ITS
OWN TIME AND PLACE!
Modern man is getting further and further away from
the rhythms and natural needs innate to the human
condition, and Ayurveda does nothing other than
bring us back to Nature!
HOW DOES IT DO THAT?
By concerning ourselves with food; with the quality
of the environment; with the natural tendencies
different to each person; with the continuing changes
to which man, like the environment, is subject to
in following the seasons one after another; and
with the different stages of life with respect to
the physiological passages that we now tend to ignore
more and more, thereby producing great discomfort
both physical and mental. The consideration of the
strict relationship between the Microcosm and Macrocosm
is one of the more immediate reading keys of Ayurveda
and of enormous relevance.
The Classical texts that have come down to us have
very specific and painstaking details which allow
those who study Ayurveda to codify and simplify
with extreme clarity its principle keys in such
a way as to be able to yield up both material for
study and for immediate practical application for
all of the different practitioners operating in
this Sector of the Science of Life.
WHO IS IT FOR?
We are referring here to naturopaths, psychologists,
nurses, physiotherapists, masseurs, beauticians,
and to the new position of practioners of Well-being
or DBN.
The Classical texts being the direct sources of
Ayurvedic knowledge, it's our duty to maintain their
contents as an integral whole, above all in the
present day's context that Ayurveda is experiencing
of its increasing spread throughout Italy and abroad.
AYURVEDA IN COOPERATION
AND NOT IN OPPOSITION
Today it's very important to know how to collect
together the true Universal Spirit of Ayurveda that
works toward the Well-being of all individuals;
having as its scope, and being disposed to cooperate
with the various Well-being techniques that belong
to different systems of prevention and care, both
Traditional and Modern.
